If you’ve done much SEO work for your website, I’m sure you’ve realized just how important it is to include the right text in the < title > tag of each page.

As discussed in this article, it is a good idea to build each of your pages around its own primary keyphrase, and somehow incorporate that keyphrase into your < title > tag. The question is, of course, what’s the best way to integrate it? The problem is that each search engine has its own unique answer.

MSN (aka Live.com) is generally thought to reward very high keyword density, and often grants top-five rankings to pages with 100% density in the title (that is, pages where the primary keyphrase is the only thing in the title bar).

Google, on the other hand, seems to make a point of devaluing pages on keywords that exactly match their < title > tag. This measure was most likely introduced as a way to fight search engine spammers who over-optimize for a single phrase, by excessively placing it in their content, headings, and title.

Overall, you need to make an informed decision about which optimization route you want to take for each of your sites. As mentioned in the algorithm summaries, MSN is a good choice for driving short-term traffic and revenue, while Google has a lot more potential for long-term sustainable content websites.

If you want to optimize for Google, my advice would be to go for title keyword density of around 50%, and no greater than 75%. For example, if your primary keyphrase is three words long, you many wish to add another three-word phrase to your title, consisting of secondary keywords.

Google Adsense is contextual ads, it select advertisements based on your website content. Sound cool, but often the selected ads is not related to your content. Well, that’s the limitation of robots. *shrug*

We(I) believe that highly relevant ads will helps to increase CTR(click thru rate), which also means increase your earning.

The common problem for blog site is that Google Adsense always display blog related ads, regardless the content of your blog(e.g.: display blog hosting ads in a food blog).

Google already know the problem, it provides a Competitive Ad Filter (Ads Settings -> Competitive Ad Filter) in Google Adsense.

Google combines advanced technology with editorial staff to ensure the highest quality standards in our ad program, but we recognize that you may not want certain ads, such as your competitors’ ads, to show on your website. Ads that link to sites on your filter list won’t appear on your content pages.

Though the ads are not competitors to us(bloggers), but we can make use of the ads filter to get higher relevant ads, by filter out those blog related ads.

Thought Google says filtering ads may reduce your earning, don’t be afraid! Google has alot advertisers! Filtering unrelated ads will only bring you more related ads.

Well, when you see no ads displayed, that means you gone too far and it’s time to reduce your filter list.

When I see an unrelated ad always displayed in my blog, I will filter it out to save the space for other ads.

Google adds another ad format for Google Adsense publishers, the horizontal link units.

Like previous vertical link units, it display a list of ads topic that related to your page. When click on the topic, it display a page of advertisements.

I am thinking where to fit the horizontal link units… Perhaps the best position is top or bottom of the page…

Tips of The Day - How To Partition A Hard Drive In Vista?

Have you move your OS to Vista ? If yes, I’m sure you want to know how to make new partition in Vista. For your info,in Vista new partition is called “volume”.

OK let’s get started. First go to Start Menu > Run and type in “diskmgmt.msc” and press Enter. It is actually a shortcut to open Disk Management Utility.

Then to create space for new volume(partition), right-click on existing volume and select “Shrink Volume” to resize the volume. Note that you can only shrink the volume that using NTFS format.

After that new dialog box will appear, asking you to enter a new size of your volume. Make sure to see total volume before shrinking process.

After “Shrinking” process done, right-click on “Unallocated” space and choose New Simple Volume.
Just follow the wizard in order to create and format your new volume. Then you’re done !!!

Tips Of The Day - Creating A Shutdown Shortcut On Desktop

Today we are going to learn how to create Shutdown shortcut button on Desktop. First, on the desktop right click and choose New -> Shortcut.

In the Type the location of the item, insert this command:-
%windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -s

or, if you want to shutdown instantly you can use this command:-
%windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -s -f -t 00

::A bit info about the command I use::
For “-s” means shutdown. If you want to reboot, replace “-s” with “-r”
For “-f” means forces running application to close without warning.
For “-t 00” means set timeout for shutdown to XX seconds.

After that, click Next button. In the Type a Name for this shortcut, enter “Shutdown my Computer” or something like that.

By clicking Finish, then you are DONE !!!!.
